Certain species of queen ants live for several years and have millions of offspring! Take for example the queen leaf cutter ant. She can grow up to 30 mm (1-1/4″) long and lay up to 28,000 eggs every day.

Army ant queens grow to two inches in length and are capable of laying millions of eggs every month.
